Etta Chicken

We replaced the chickens formerly known as Polly and Esther with Henrietta. Etta, as she’ll be known unless Henry proves to be a better fit, is a black and white stripped Plymouth Rock hen. She’s a quick little bird. Has to be to get around Louise to the food.

Coq au vin, anyone?

B found Thelma ass over teakettle in the hen house shortly after L was born. Against his carnivorous instincts and in line with my cardinal rule against eating pets, he buried her unceremoniously in the back yard where the marshmallow suddenly died the summer before.
